Brand Identity
Brainchild Festival’s event Hatch is a series of nights at Platform Southwark in London for artists of all disciplines to share new creative projects in development. Hatch champions innovative theatre, cabaret, comedy, music, poetry, performance art and everything in between – basically anyone willing to take risks and try something new!

Design Concept - Spirals
The Hatch identity is based on the concept of spirals as expressions of creativity. They are often found in the natural pattern of many organisms and suggest the process of growth and evolution. Spirals also represent incompleteness and an intention to go somewhere, and in relation to Hatch, the start and development of a new idea.

For the main event graphics, a bespoke handmade spiral provides a link between each graphical element, depicting the connection between the artist and audience. The hand drawn logo fits well with the informal nature of the event, and has been designed to compliment the Brainchild logo. The logo letters are joined together, following the same idea as the spiral.
